QFS Technician

Duration: 12+ Months contract with possibility of extension or FTE

Location: Cincinnati, OH 45227

Work hours: 02:00 PM - 12AM

Position Description:

  • Provides a broad range of support for QFS functions within the plant.
  • Keep work area safe. Maintain housekeeping in work area at all times.
  • Calibrate and maintain online quality equipment
  • Review required production paperwork for completion and accuracy
  • Initiates corrective actions for quality deficiencies found in processing or in documentation
  • Attend / set-up / document daily product evaluations as required
  • Assist with hold evaluations
  • Collect and maintain retain samples
  • Manage quality documentation
  • Review raw material paperwork for accuracy and completion
  • Prepare sample shipments as requested
  • Support innovation projects in the plant
  • Perform weekly and monthly audits
  • Attend or present various training events
  • Take routine and investigatory environmental samples
  • Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, including KWS processes.
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulations.
  • Food Safety – plant in proper sanitary condition at all times, including allergen control, pest control, guidelines followed.
  • Compliance with food safety policies and procedures.
  • Assists in troubleshooting quality problems and implementing product improvements
  • Drive K-values
  • Perform required duties for Quality Supervisor as back-up
  • Notify Manager of issues and concerns.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
  • understands and meets internal and external business needs with professionalism and a sense of urgency.

Experience Required:

  • 2 years related work experience in a laboratory or food processing environment.
  • Experience with Regulatory Compliance and Food Safety.

Education Required:

  • High School diploma/GED
