Residential Counselor
A 32 bed residential treatment facility for adolescent girls that specializes in trauma informed care and specialty treatment modalities including SMART, Neurofeedback, and trauma sensitive yoga through the ARC framework. The school and residential facility provides comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and 24 hour direct care staff. Students are referred to this location based on struggles maintaining safety at less restrictive levels of care and who require the support of a full service treatment modality to make progress towards their treatment goals.
Pay:
  • $13.50/hour; if do good after 6 months you up to $14/hour; if do better after a year you get $15/hour...etc.
Job Description:
We are looking for Residential Counselors. This person must love working with adolescents, be energetic, positive, disciplined, have excellent boundaries and will thrive in a fast paced environment. The type of Residential Counselor we are seeking will take pride in working with a team who strives to make everyday a little bit better for a group of adolescents who were never given a chance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Residential program or mental health program experience preferred (1+ yrs preferred)
  • Experience working with specialized populations of adolescents preferred.
  • Meet programs background and driving record check requirements
  • Maintains valid driver's license.
    • Able to drive 8 passenger van.
  • MUST have flexible schedule (work 1st/2nd/or 3rd shifts mixed)
  • Able to work alone in an unsupervised environment
  • MUST be 21 yrs/older
  • MUST be willing to learn with an upbeat, positive personality
  • HS diploma
  • Must have reliable transport
  • Must be comfortable with household pets (mainly dogs)
  • MUST be willing to use ethical restraining
  • MUST be willing to provide 3 references
  • May work at this campus or one down the street (4 miles away)

    • House hold and life chores and teaching kids how to do them

    • Helping in therapies and learning them for the children you work with

Shifts:
  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts mixed for everyone
  • Usually have Sun-Thurs shifts, Tues-Sat shifts
  • May have four, 10-hour overnight shifts from 10:45pm-8:45am
  • Leave this up to the interview to be discussed
  • Most likely, you will always have overtime here
  • MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE
