JOB SUMMARY:
Field Engineers are responsible for performing diagnostic tests, data analysis and report writing for the GPS ( "Global Power Services ") Group. Engineers will also support clients of the Doble Service Program, development programs in the engineering department and the Doble International Client Conference, and its committee structure.

ESSENTAIL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform on-site field tests at client sites including, but not limited to, electric power generating stations, substations, petrochemical, pulp, paper, mining, industrial, and commercial facilities.
• Responsible for Site Acceptance, conduct routine and special testing of power and distribution transformers, voltage regulators, bushings and circuit breakers from different manufacturers (ABB, Siemens, Waukesha, SMIT and others).
• Perform routine and special tests such as dissipation factor, voltage withstand and partial discharge measurements on turbo and hydro generators (Siemens, Client, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Brush and others).
• Provide engineering support and written reports on the interpretation of measured data.
• Related duties as assigned by Field Services Manager
• Write papers and make oral presentations at conferences, seminars, and other related events in support of department objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field OR a combination of experience, education and training equivalent to a four-year degree in the above areas

EXPERIENCE

MUST HAVE:
• 2-5 years' experience in on-site field testing within a power plant.
• Independently plan and organize one's own activities
• Familiarity with operations or maintenance of power plant or heavy industrial electrical machinery is desired
• Familiarity with radio frequency signals and measurements is desired
• Strong services orientation
• Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
• Domestic and International travel required (50-60%)
• Driver's License required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to sit, use computers, read, write, type, use fax machines, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients and co-workers. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and work outside, sometimes under adverse environmental conditions.
