State Street bank is the client

The security engineer's role is to ensure the stability, integrity and security of the IT systems that support core organizational functions. The security engineer will own various security-related initiatives such as
authentication / authorization systems, firewalls, encryption protocols, etc. He / she needs to be adept at

monitoring and identifying security intrusions and collaborating with team members or outside vendors to
remediate findings.
• Monitor, identify and respond to security intrusions by conducting root cause analysis and implementing fixes
• Coordinate with team members and outside vendors to resolve incidents in a timely manner
• Enable and monitor access rights to various system endpoints and applications
• Interact and negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure system-related products and services
• Configure web application firewall, layer 3/4 firewalls, IDS, DDoS prevention, etc.
• Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving
or further leveraging these systems from a security standpoint
• Perform compliance assessments of security controls and document any gaps
• Assist with coordinating the remediation of control deficiencies resulting from security risk assessments
• Document risks introduced by a new or existing project or product
• Understanding of information security control frameworks
• Experience in multiple security areas such as firewall policy implementation, Data Loss Prevention (DLP),
intrusion detection / prevention, threat and vulnerability assessment, event management (SIEM), forensics
and security incident response
• Familiarity with selecting and configuring tools to monitor, detect and respond to IT security vulnerabilities
• Prior experience in monitoring security systems and reviewing logs for vulnerabilities
• Experience with modern security concepts such as next generation firewalls, Advanced Persistent Threats
(APT), phishing and social engineering, network access controllers (NAC), gateway anti-malware, and
enhanced authentication
• Strong analytical, data gathering and problem solving skills with respect to analyzing security attacks
• Possess relevant security engineer certifications such as ISSEP and CISM
• Familiarity with information security best practices and related laws
