The position of a Performance Engineer is responsible for performance engineering and performance testing of server application (Unix/Linux/Windows) and Web Services. Review of functional and technical specifications for potential performance issues. Review of program code to identify potential performance issues. Developing test plans, developing and executing formal test cases to ensure the delivery of quality software application. Design, write and edit test cases to ensure software performs as designed. Review system use cases and functional specifications with the appropriate business analyst. Conduct test cases peer review. Ensure all levels of testing are conducted with adequate coverage. Identify potential problems, omissions, and open issues, attend walkthroughs and signoff meetings. Manage the release cycle, identify Quality risks, escalate issues in a timely manner and manage defects to closure. Will execute jobs and produce documentation on the performance characteristics of the job.

Minimum of 7 years' experience with Performance Testing/Engineering within the Client Server and Web Applications
7 years of expert knowledge with Client LoadRunner utilizing all available protocols creating and executing scripts
7 year of experience working within the Server applications installing/troubleshooting and tuning Unix/Linux/Windows server environments
Experience analyzing and trending performance issues and reliability of enterprise applications in production-like configuration and articulate test result impacts with stakeholders
Proficient in creating and executing complex SQL queries for database testing (Oracle and MS SQL)
Comfortable with the OS architecture, Kernel, tuning, Networking, Various Hardware Configs impacting performance of the applications
Experience with middleware using MQ Series and also WebSphere setup and configuration
Experience in Test Management/Defect Tracking with the following tools: ClearQuest, Client ALM, SoapUI, Client UFT)
The role requires critical thinking, expert project management skills, and exceptionally strong communication skills that can summarize and document performance test results
