Our client, a Regional Life insurance Company located in Austin, TX is looking for a Network Operations Analyst (NOC Support, Monitoring Windows, VMWare, Veaam, LAN-WAN) in a permanent capacity.
  • This is a Fulltime salaried permanent role, but the client values work life balance and only has a 37.5 hour workweek.
  • This is a hands-off role. It is not hands on engineering or administration.
  • Is purely monitoring, reviewing, responding to, and handling incidents and issues.
  • Will work next to, in the same NOC, as the Security Analyst
Network Operations Analyst is responsible for proactive monitoring and responding to events within the infrastructure monitoring platform. This individual will provide technical assistance with installation, operation, service and maintenance of a variety of information systems. He or she will be working with Security team and IT Infrastructure Director to develop and maintain an ongoing Operations/Security management program.

  • 4+ years of experience with LAN and network monitoring
  • 3+ years of experience with VMware, vCenter
  • 4+ Years with Windows Server 2008/2012
  • Experience with Solarwinds, Orion
  • Experience with Veeam
  • Use of professional concepts to solve a variety of problems
  • Deep understanding of IT security standards and best practices
  • Ability to work on problems of moderate scope, where situation analysis requires reviewing identifiable factors
  • Exercise good judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action
  • Possess strong organizational and time-management skills, have ability to multi-task efficiently and prioritize workload adequately in a fast-paced environment
  • A good understanding of ITIL, including Service Management, Capacity Management, and Change Management
  • Ability to work flexible schedule
  • Experience with VMware vSphere 5.x, 6
  • Experience with Cisco networking infrastructure and Netflow

Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the performance, capacity of computer systems, and services using variety of tools
  • Develop knowledge and skills in network and system administration, particularly with respect to NWL architecture and platforms
  • Manage and monitor Veaam backup to ensure the backup jobs completed successfully
  • Develop and maintain NOC standard operating procedures
  • Assist in conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments
  • Track and document all issues and resolutions in detail
  • Maintain ongoing communication to keep stakeholders aware of known issues and the steps being taken
  • Monitor unauthorized changes and correlate them to change management system
  • Handle issues and escalations, identify and respond to system and network failures, liaison with 3rd party suppliers, own and manage escalations through successful resolution
  • Manage inventory and assets
  • Work closely with security team on remediation as issues arise
  • Create and update existing documentation of processes and procedures in support of administration tasks
  • Deliver required reports to Auditors
