Developer - Database (Teradata)

• Develop and support existing and new project fulfillment processes, including coordinating with Business to understand requirements and analyzing potential impact of implementing change requests.
• Analyze, design, develop, enhance and support applications that integrate with existing business components utilizing established processes,
· frameworks, and technologies.
• Undertake SIT and UAT support tasks.
• Perform Support tasks to comprehensively analyze application and process issues, including problem identification,
· communication and coordination with customer-facing support teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of direct experience in designing, implementing and supporting applications using Teradata utilities (Hands on experience in BTEQ, TPT load utilities, writing complex SQL queries involving aggregation, OLAP functions etc , query tuning, Teradata performance tuning)
• Must have experience on Teradata Tools SQL Assistant and using Teradata Utilities BTEQ, Fast Load, MultiLoad, FastExport, Tpump. Creation of database objects like tables, views, joins and indexes. Develop and support Extraction, Transformation and Load process ETL to populate Teradata tables and SAS Datasets.
• Clear understanding of Teradata architecture.
• Candidate should have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in SQL, performance tuning, data analysis, Autosys Scheduling and Expert in Unix Shell scripting.
• Experience in Extracting and converting data from one platform to another (From Teradata, Oracle, Sybase, Flat Files to SAS and vice versa) by using SAS SQL procedures and create SAS data sets.
• Knowledge in using SAS Proc SQL’s, SAS Macros, SAS Data Step Functions.
• Ability to troubleshoot application issues from a comprehensive perspective including application code, data, and infrastructure related issues.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Conduct root cause analysis and advanced performance tuning for complex business processes and functionality.
• Summarize results of various data analysis into clear and concise documentation and reports for peers, cross-functional teams, business teams and management.
• Familiar with data movement techniques and best practices to handle large volume of data.
• Familiar with data warehousing architecture and data modeling best practices. Knowledge of Unix and shell scripting is highly preferred.
• Experience developing using the SAS programming language is plus
• Knowledge of Agile software development practices.
• Excellent programming, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn and retain complex business processes, and apply that knowledge to assigned tasks.
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise-level applications and processes.
• Prior Knowledge in AML is a plus.
