Description/Comment:The Application System Engineer is a versatile and highly motivated individual who supplies front line technical application and infrastructure support. As a Application System Engineer, you will be responsible for providing escalation technical and developer support for production issues impacting application and data avilability impacting Partners. Being a vital part of the Production Support team involves working on highly complex systems and providing general technology support services for both wen and data management applications, ensuring overall customer satisfaction and total resolution of each support incident. Your role as a support professional will be as a central figure supplying technical expertise on behalf of our applications as well as to other WBT Core Services team members.

The Primary objective of this role is to be a key participant in the maintenance and support of several key Data Distribution and Data Quality services as part of the WBT Coreservices Platform and application support team.
This includes the support of the following key enterprise initiatives:
Safety & Soundness (vulnerability management, Tech refresh and Oracle Exadata database migration, Identity and Access management)

Additional Job Details:• Troubleshooting complex software application issues. Issues to be resolved require a broad range of troubleshooting skills related to: software functionality, application server setup, database management, data analysis, and third party products (SQL Server reporting and Integration Services, IIS, Autosys, NDM, Oracle, Windows servers) • Providing client management services inclusive of excellent communication skills, responsive follow through, and advocacy for client issues within internal departments. The Production Support Engineer will analyze trends associated with the customer base and report potential areas of risk or reward to Production Support Management. • Prioritizing numerous issues of varying severity, and effectively manage the resolution of all issues within accepted service levels. • Collaborating extensively with peers, Business Analysts, Operations Staff and Development to resolve client issues while actively contributing to a growing knowledge network that improves the effectiveness of our team and the information available to our Partners. • First level system administration of client environments including: Tracking all changes and working with our internal teams to ensure optimal performance and response times. • Identify and implement continuous improvements to the team's production processes. • Maintain knowledge and technical expertise of current production best practices tools and techniques and implement them in a reasonable and responsible manner. • Coordinate, implement and test vulnerability remediations in all production and non production environments. • Minimize overall production risks while maximizing productivity. Desired Skills and Experience: • 4+ SQL Server database, Integration and Reportings services skills and data analysis. • 3-5 years experience in engineering support or technical support environment or equivalent consulting experience. • Deep understanding of version control systems (Git, Udeploy, Jenkins, ITRS Genos etc.), including branching and merging strategies • Experience with software build tools (Maven) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins) • Experience with Linux environments and scripting languages (we tend to use bash but are open to any language) • Strong analytical and negotiation skills. • The ability to perform a multi-task job and adjust priorities as appropriate. • Possess excellent time management skills. Be able to take the initiative to meet deadlines and the ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • The ability to work effectively in a team situation as well as independently. • The ability to network and interact effectively with a broad range of associates spanning varied disciplines and responsibilities. • Must have a strong passion for production support and process excellence and customer satisfaction. • Must have a strong passion for Monitoring, instrumentation and automation.
