8 Month Contract

Key Focus:
  • Write scripts or develop code that automates network administration and automates network performance reporting. Languages, protocols, and interfaces involved:- Languages: C, Perl, Python, and shell scripting I
  • nterfaces: Strong knowledge and experience using network APIs (Web APIs like REST, RPC, SOAP)
  • Protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, EIRGP o Integrate network management tools and other tools.
  • Key tools involved to integrate are: Cisco Prime, Netscout nGeniusOne, Splunk
  • Network Monitoring tools such as BMC, AppDynamics,
  • ServiceNow (to integrate tools that will automatically create an incident ticket) o Selectively modify design of LAN and WAN networks (network architecture) or participate with architects to help modify design, and/or work with new innovative technology
  • Setup and test new network designs in test lab
  • Work with SD-WAN to automate tasks and integrate with network tools
  • Try AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology that can integrate with network tools to mine data and search for insights, providing proactive insights to network issues and even predicting failures
Specific duties:
  • Integrate new information technology tools designed to significantly improve  network capabilities in: performance, troubleshooting and determining root cause. - As a project team member, act as a network analysis subject matter expert to identify, analyze, select and implement new information technology infrastructure components within a diverse environment as required to support strategic business plans and processes.
  • Review existing tools to help integrate tools and/or consolidate tools, reducing cost while increasing productivity and quality Deere’s network management capabilities
  • Automation of tools maintenance, support tasks, and integration (data exchange using APIs); this may require shell scripting,
  • Python scripting, and other programming, including with C or Perl. - Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and validate existing SOPs
  1. Information Technology (IT) experience (7-15 years)
  2. IT experience: networks, network security, middleware, client/server (5-10 years)
  3. IT networking experience (4-8 years)
  4. Detailed understanding of Cisco networking infrastructure and concepts
  5. Experience with network monitoring platforms and solutions (Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Riverbed, Smoke Ping, NMIS, etc.) (1-3 years)
  6. Designing, building, or supporting network management tools (1-3 years)
  7. Designing, building, or supporting WAN (Wide Area Network) and LAN (Local Area Network) (1-3 years)
  8. Business process knowledge - understanding basic business principles, and ability to apply that knowledge to technical situations
  9. Computer programming or network programming (3-10 years)
  10. Knowledge and Experience with Cisco products (2-4 years)
  11. Design and code database tables to store application data within SQL environments.
  12. Adapt existing technology to support being driven by remote commands, e.g. character animation, physics, destruction events. Work with architects, programmers, and network engineers to ensure a cohesive and engaging multiplayer experience.
  13. LEAN Six Sigma knowledge and experience (1 + years)
  14. Detailed understanding of and 5+ years with Cisco networking infrastructure and concepts - Experience of 3+ years with network monitoring and management platforms and solutions, specifically Cisco Prime and Netscout nGeniusOne
  15. Network programming to integrate network management tools or automate monitoring and network administration (3+ years)
  16. Supporting and modifying network management tools to understand well what network support personnel experience day-to-day (2+ years)
  17. Supporting WAN (Wide Area Network) and LAN (Local Area Network to understand well what network support personnel experience day-to-day (2+ years)
  18. Business process knowledge - understanding basic principles of, and support processes, and apply to technical situations.
