Job Description
  • Design and Define models, including solution patterns, to guide solution decisions for the enterprise. Create, document, and communicate the integration approach of all the components of the data architecture & security framework.
  • Performs a key role in the areas of data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, data discovery, and implementation.
  • Rapidly developing dimensional models or analytical data sets based on specific business requirements. Experience in ER - dimensional model design and implementation of STAR and SNOWFLAKE schemas is a must.
  • Work with the IT team to set strategy for conformed dimensions, and enterprise hierarchy etc.
  • Transform Logical Data Models into Physical Data Design for Columnar database, for the both the Integration and Access Layers in the three tier architecture.
  • Engage with Data Architects, Directors and Business Users to understand data access paths and business use.
  • Perform data profiling, and business rules investigations on source data, to ensure correct design of the Integration and Access layers.
  • Map and document data transformations of data from a business terms perspective.
Qualifications
  • Dimensional Modeling
  • At least 5+ years hands on experience designing and implementing Star Schemas
  • At least 5+ years experience implementing Data Warehouse presentation layer - including design and definition of logical tables, physical sources, dimensions, columns, aggregation rules
  • At least 5+ years experience in writing advanced SQL queries, views, and optimization of SQL queries
  • Transform Logical Data Models into Physical Data Design for Columnar database, for the both the Integration and Access Layers in the three tier architecture.
  • Knowledge of Ralph Kimball's Data Modeling Concepts including Transaction dimensions, conformed dimensions and facts, slowly changing dimension, multi-Star/ Snowflake Schema Modeling, different types of Fact tables
  • Hands-on experience with BI application architecture and development
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
