Business Analyst (Financial Management System)

Primary Responsibilities include:
• Author and update eLearning courseware materials using Adobe Captivate 8 and Articulate Studio 13.
• Convert existing eLearning courseware materials from Captivate 4 and Articulate 09.
• Follow existing courseware templates and guidelines to maintain consistency with existing materials.
• Create end-user communication materials, including bulletins, user guides, and other written and online materials that that explains existing or future system functionality.
• Plan, track, and report status of eLearning courseware conversion activities in areas such as: accounting, budgeting, and procurement functionalities.
• Identify and convey eLearning conversion issues to the Team Leader and determine how they should be addressed.
• Serve as a liaison between the Financial Management System (FMS/3) project and City agencies, ensuring agency concerns and issues are handled professionally and expediently.
• Provide post-deployment support, assisting the Call Center with answering, logging, and following upon calls.
• Conduct user assistance sessions as needed.
• Write announcements and other agency communications.
• Perform other special assignments as needed including: providing assistance, direction, and follow up activities for oversight and line agencies in completing functions for business events conducted throughout the year.
• Perform administrative tasks as needed.

NOTE: Occasional travel to agencies within the 5 NYC boroughs is required during business hours.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must have current working knowledge of authoring eLearning courseware materials using e-Learning tools - Articulate Studio 13 and Adobe Captivate 8.
  • Ability to create software simulations in a demo or training mode.
  • Ability to edit TEB, click boxes and captions in Captivate 8.
  • Ability to work with Hyperlinks, Engage interaction and Quizmaker in Articulate Studio 13.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate IT/financial systems functionality into simple yet effective communications for end user communications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
  • Experience conducting presentations for audiences of at minimum 50 people.
  • Ability to coordinate activities from end-to-end with guidance and input from management and/or teammates.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and quickly resolve problems, while under tight deadlines and while maintaining a positive and professional working relationship with all project participants.
  • Basic knowledge of project planning, managing, organizing and status reporting.

  • Must have independently developed eLearning courseware materials using Adobe Captivate 8 and Articulate Studio 13 tools.
  • Minimum four (4) years experience with Captivate and Articulate.
  • Experience in procurement and accounting is preferred.
  • Minimum four (4) years experience in a writing , communication, or training position for an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation (preferably an accounting system implementation);
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience providing agency support or training for an accounting system (Advantage ERP preferred).
  • Minimum 1 complete SDLC implementation in a communication and/or training position within the past 5 years for a large system implementation (ERP implementation preferred).

BA degree in Communications, MIS, computer science, or related field from a recognized college or university.
