MS Access Developer

Location: Austin, Texas
Duties Include:
Work closely with end users to learn their current utilization of Microsoft Access database
Make recommendations regarding how to use Microsoft Access 2016 to accomplish business goals
Rewrite/reprogram current Microsoft Access database to work in the new environment
Document how Microsoft Access database was updated
If needed, come up with a business solution if conversion is not possible
Converts data from project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to create or modify computer programs
Prepares, or receives detailed specifications to describe sequence of steps that program must follow and input, output, and logical operations involved
Analyzes specifications, applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic
Confers with supervisor and representatives of departments concerned with program to resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls
Converts detailed specifications to language able to be processed by computer
Enters program codes into computer system
Inputs test data into computer
Observes computer monitor screen to interpret program operating codes
Corrects program errors, using methods such as modifying program or altering sequence of program steps
May prepare computer block diagrams and machine logic flowcharts for detailed coding of problems, and provides for the documentation
Researching, programming, and other related documentation
Primary Skills :
* The ideal Programmer/Developer candidate has outstanding programming knowledge of Microsoft Access including programming experience with MDW programming (since 2003)
* Has the ability to quickly troubleshoot and implement solutions, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must have good communication skills and be able to think critically
