Senior Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst position supports the Findlay finance team to ensure that financial reporting and asset management are performed accurately and in compliance with Whirlpool policies and procedures. This position will report to the Finance Manager and will perform duties including financial reporting for month end, weekly metric tracking, account reconciliation duties, and various special projects requiring financial support as they come up. As a key member of the finance team this position will also participate in cost savings opportunities throughout the factory including lean events and problem solving.

What You Will Do
  • Support day to day accounting department responsibilities including month end financial reporting, factory reporting requirements and forecasting, as well as balance sheet reconciliation and analysis
  • Analysis of labor and benefit cost structures and reporting. Role will also be expected to participate in lean labor project tracking as well as support the development of initiatives to enable new productivity opportunities
  • Business modeling including make-versus-buy cost analysis and capital project investments
  • Work closely with members of the Accounting team that support general ledger management, product costing, payroll, capital investment and fixed assets, and inventory management
  • Support monthly and quarterly forecasting and reporting requirements as well as the annual profit plan process
  • Adhoc project analysis as required
Qualifications:
What You Need To Succeed
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Certifications or advanced degree would be desirable
  • Prefer 3+ years of related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in financial accounting and reporting management
  • Experience in researching and understanding complicated topics such as corporate policies and procedures, FASB guidance, and application tax scenarios
  • Experience in payroll, benefits and labor reporting is desired, but not required
  • Strong project management experience
  • Basic knowledge of plant operations or cost accounting is desired, but not required
  • Experience in the areas of general ledger and inventory management
  • Ability to work unsupervised and independently
  • Good decision making and judgment skills
  • Proven creative problem solving techniques and lean thinking
  • Working knowledge of PC based software including Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Presentation skills and willingness to lead small groups is critical
  • A strong desire to learn and succeed
