Manager of Infrastructure and Database Operations
Purchasing Power one of the fastest growing specialty e-retailers is seeking a Manager of Infrastructure and Database Operations to join our team. This position oversees all internal and external non-windows based systems including: servers, network, configuration, implementation, databases and support. Also responsible for the analysis and design of the databases and Oracle specific architecture needed to support the Oracle implementation project and future state requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Day to Day oversight of infrastructure systems at multiple sites and cloud
  • Analyze monitoring and report on trends and recommend solutions to emerging challenges
  • Adheres to a set of performance metrics and SLA's to measure, monitor and improve performance of the IT Infrastructure.
  • Take a "hands-on” approach to troubleshoot and resolve issues, especially in critical situations, and work the hours necessary to get the job done
  • Manage, develop, lead, and retain a highly professional team; gives performance evaluations as well as mentoring and growing staff
  • Plan, coordinate, and administrator database systems, including base definition, structure, documentation, requirements, operational guidelines and protection
  • Develop, support and maintenance of the Oracle Financials environments including current production, the migration of production from a Windows platform to Linux, and the upgrade from 11i to R12
  • Work with internal customers to develop new value-added programs and data solutions with existing data warehouse structure
  • Create ad-hoc reports utilizing various data sources

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent business experience.
  • 7 years' experience with Oracle database and ERP implementation or upgrade projects
  • 5 years "hands-on” experience with Oracle E-Business and at least one of the following:
    • Oracle EBS R12
  • Experience with :
    • Oracle Application Server 10g
    • Concurrent Managers
    • Oracle Forms 10g
    • AD Utilities – adpatch, adadmin, admrgpch, adrelink, adsplice and distributed AD
    • Cloning and Patching
    • Performance Tuning
    • Oracle Database Enterprise Edition
    • Web Logic Suite
    • Real Application Clusters (RAC) a must.
    • Oracle Tuning Pack
    • Oracle Diagnostics Pack
  • 4 years' experience programming in using tools such as VB, C++, HTML, SQL, ASP, SOA, BPEL, Oracle Middleware), Java, or other languages/technologies.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of network systems hardware and software practice and technology. Experience with platforms such as LINUX, UNIX, Windows, or other operating systems
  • Monitoring tools like iostat, sar, vmstat, top, netstat, ipcs
