QA Engineer

Profile :
Glory Global Solutions Inc, a national manufacturer of coin and currency equipment for the banking, retail & casino industries, has an immediate opening for a QA Engineer, assuring consistent quality of production and responsible for the software QA process to ensure products meet requirement specifications, creating test plans and analyzing defects using white box and black box testing methods.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; prepares and completes action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service related standards; identifies and resolves problems; completes audits; determines system improvements and implements change.
  • Develops and implements quality assurance plans by. Reviewing the product software specifications, analyzing the customer requirement documents and reviewing the defects reported from the customers with past releases.
  • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Education and Qualification / Skills & Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science with at least 2+ years of experience / experience gained from working in a related business field
  • Demonstrated history of a passion for quality complemented by software engineering and development lifecycle knowledge
  • Applications server experience - Tomcat, IIS, WebSphere
  • Working with ODBC and JDBC connections to databases
  • SQL Database experience – SQL Server, DB2, Oracle.
  • SQL database performance trouble shooting experience.
  • Automated test suite development.
  • WebService API testing.
  • API test development using programming languages – Java or C# .
  • RAD Development tools – Spring, Hibernate
  • Serial communication, socket programming, Active Directory, Windows Messaging and Microsoft Speech Server are strongly considered.
  • Strong verbal interpersonal skills and possessing excellent written communication skills (ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience)
  • Works in a logical and methodical manner – pays attention to detail; is thorough
  • Is a strategic thinker; deals with complex issues and is proactive in providing solutions
  • Comfortable working with fast-paced environment; schedule driven development
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
