Overview

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (or STEM related field)
  • 2-3 years experience in Project or Sales Engineering role
  • Direct experience working with OEM
  • Automotive experience preferred

Responsibilities
Engineering liaison (75%):
  1. Conducting technical negotiations with OEM.
  2. Obtaining and communicating OEM requirements and program timing.
  3. Reporting on progress of tire-programs during job #1 and Detroit-Akron engineering meetings.
  4. Coordinating tire and data submissions to OEM.
  5. Identifying strategic, technical, and quality issues impacting OE programs and OE business.
  6. Obtaining engineering approval documents from OEM.

Tire sales (10%)
  1. Identifying new OE business opportunities and referring them to BAOE director.
  2. Filling OEM orders for prototype and production tires needed for vehicle development programs, marketing events, pre-production vehicle-builds, technical studies, and concept programs.

Quality (10%)
  1. Coordinating negotiations of program-specific quality requirements with OEM.
  2. Coordinating on-site technical activities at OEM plants prior to job #1.
  3. Supporting OEQA as needed to service quality-complaints from OEM and dealerships.
  4. Coordinating uniformity, balance, and drift/pull sensitivity studies with OEM.

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering * 0-2 years of experience in product engineering, applications engineering, sales engineering, or program management role. * If entry-level, needs to have had a co-op or internship. * Automotive experience.
