Lead Security Operations Analyst

Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Lead Security Operations Analyst opening to join our Global Information Security organization.

Day to Day (what a typical day looks like in this role)
Today, you might be working with our security operations team to analyze suspicious activity in our systems, and refine our monitoring tools configuration to keep Whirlpool safe. Tomorrow, you may be working with our infrastructure operations and network teams to assess and implement new technology for data encryption, firewalls, or cloud security. Every day, you will work with your Whirlpool and vendor colleagues around the globe to reduce risk in our global corporate computing environment, meet our compliance obligations, and ensure that our systems and data are only accessed by those properly authorized to do so.
What You Will Do
  • Lead Security Operations Analyst is a key contributor on the Global Information Security team and works closely across the security domains of Security Operations & Engineering, Compliance, Privacy, and Identity and Access Management. The position will reside within the Security Operations team and ensure that we are establishing and leveraging our state of the art tools, procedures, and processes to maximize our protection from internal and external cyber security threats.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Assessing and introducing new technology to keep pace with the dynamic threat landscape
    • Manage and operate security tools for monitoring our environment and report on activity levels
    • Develop expertise in security operations and coordinate cross functional activity for deployment of security enablers and tools with the network, infrastructure, and Winning Workplace teams among others
    • Lead projects and proof of concepts for security improvements
    • Participate in troubleshooting and problem solving as situations arise
    • Manage vendor relationships to ensure proper product licensing and effective and timely vendor
Qualifications:
What You Need to Succeed
GENERAL
  • Strong collaborative skills and team orientation
  • A minimum of 3+ years of Information Security experience or equivalent IT analyst experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience with tools such as Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec DCS, Nexpose, Splunk, Tanium, Palo Alto or equivalents is a plus
  • Driven organizational change management support and process improvement initiatives
  • A consultant to the business on key technology and process changes
  • Strong relationship building and networking skills with the ability to influence, train others, and share expertise
  • Clear written and oral communication skills, liaise between business, technical, and security personnel effectively, and translate business language into technical actions
  • Drives and influences 3rd party support and develop strong relationships with vendors
  • Proactively resolves operational and project issues before they become problems - engages executives as needed
  • Drives innovation and process improvement activities. Drive multi-partner process improvement.
  • Understands risk and can prioritize activity based on risk exposure and severity
  • Willingness to continuously learn and stay current on latest security trends and Whirlpool needs

This position requires execution of Whirlpool's Non-Disclosure and Non-Competition Agreement.
