Job Summary: Procurement Specialist 1
Key Responsibilities:
Performs basic tasks and functions for professional field of work. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from others. Identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is not difficult or complex.
Major Responsibilities: Specific Requirements:
Assists in routine buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials; expedites as needed and serves as liaison between vendors and users, getting prior approval for purchases in excess of established limits. Resolves routine delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices. Assists in updating project plans and purchasing systems; reviews and analyzes requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases. Assists in the preparation of requests for quotes and assist in the development of new supply sources.
Education/Experience/Licenses etc.: Required Skills / Qualifications:

BS/BA in related discipline, combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2 years of successful experience in Procurement Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Demonstrates a basic knowledge of professional principles and skills Effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable Certification may be required in some areas.
