As a technical writer you will be part of the technical publications team responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating the entire range of eMeter s enterprise software product documentation. You will ensure that both customers and internal end-users have clear and approachable documentation to support their needs.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality content that empowers customers and partners to implement and use eMeter s enterprise business applications.
Participate in all aspects of documentation development from planning through release.
Analyze, synthesize, and create information through hands-on product usage, interviews with subject matter experts, exploring the existing documentation, and collaboration with colleagues and customers.
Identify and resolve gaps and inconsistencies in the existing documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members, such as developers, product managers, and solution consultants, to gather technical and functional information required for your research.

Required Experience
BA/BS in Journalism, English, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years of professional technical writing experience
4+ years writing documentation for complex enterprise software products
3+ years writing for a technical or developer audience
Proactive and capable of grasping technical material quickly
Proven ability to understand, use, and explain complex software
Excellent native-level written and verbal communication skills in English
Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to take ownership and define work with little direction
Strong communication and time management skills the ability to balance high quality work standards against time constraints
Enjoy working individually and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to plan, write, and edit within tight deadlines
Read and understand OOP code, ideally Java or JavaScript
Experience with reading XML files (and understands the use of XSD files)
Familiarity with database concepts and terminology
Experience with Linux/UNIX and shell scripting
Works well with Wikis, especially Confluence
Comfortable in an Agile environment
