Specific Requirements

This position is required to respond to phone and email inquiries regarding Point of Care instrument systems. Specialists provide technical and troubleshooting assistance to customers and field personnel, initiate product complaints for evaluation, and interface with other diagnostics technical areas for occasional technical writing and instructional purposes.

Minimum requirements are a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience of 5 years in a clinical laboratory. A background in Medical Technology, Quality control, or Life Sciences is preferred. PC and typing skills required. Exceptional phone, communication (oral and written) and good documentation skills are essential to success. A good attitude with a "can-do " approach must be apparent in all communications.


Responsibilities:

Provides support in semi-complex product support to customers remotely via telephone, e-mail, and fax and documents accordingly. Provides support with on-site and in-house troubleshooting for semi-complex products and other related products to customers. Participates in active programs to increase customer satisfaction. Participates in disseminating semi-complex product knowledge. Provides support in recommending semi-complex product needs of the customer to product design group. Participates in coordinating new product introductions as they relate to product support.

Education:

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of field of specialization and applies through successful completion of assignments. Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Typically 2-5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
