IT Technician I
Position Overview
Siemens Healthcare is seeking an experienced PC Technician to provide quality PC/Laptop and peripheral device support in a healthcare environment. Candidate must have excellent customer service and communication skills via face to face, telephone and email. The ideal candidate will have strong PC and peripheral problem solving and deployment skills along with Microsoft Server and Active Directory management experience. The secondary skill set needed for this position is basic understanding of Networking and Telephony environments. Position requires being onsite at Northwest Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle Washington.

Support and maintain Desktop and peripheral equipment for the healthcare institution.
Deploy, support PC, Laptops, Printers, and various other IT related devices.
Provide sound technical solutions and recommendations to meet the healthcar business needs.
Follow set procedures to replace /or place appropriate service calls to have equipment repaired or software issues resolved
Support the Networking and Telecom team as needed
Assist in projects and work efforts as assigned
Participate in Siemens technology calls

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Microsoft Windows Desktop operating systems knowledge: resolve issues that can be completed remotely utilizing remote access tools.
Fix configuration problems, missing icons, spyware/virus/malware issues, registry problems, OS patching problems.
Use applications such as LANDesk, RDP, Citrix, and terminal services to remotely connect to Windows desktops.
Use Windows command line tools to troubleshoot connectivity and login issues.
Appropriately escalate unresolvable issues to 3rd level remote or on site.
Application problems or system failures knowledge: Diagnose problems with applications and clients running locally on desktop (such as office productivity), and network connectivity problems to applications, shares, or Internet-based resources for the device.
Add/remove programs from install shares, and repair malfunctioning apps or modules.
Resolve problems with Microsoft Office, Rumba, Crystal Reporting, and other industry standard productivity tools.
Hardware/peripheral knowledge: troubleshoot printers, scanners, and other hardware failures such as hard drives, fans, monitors.
Review user manuals for HP, IKON, and other industry standard printers and step users through clearing printer jams and other usage problems.
Assist with toner-related problems or trays.
Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience and certifications
2+ years of hands-on experience supporting Personal Computers, Laptops and peripheral hardware.
Ability to develop/provide input to all required project documentation.
Excellent and demonstrated customer service and communication skills
A positive attitude and a sense of urgency.
Can work both independently and with-in a team environment.
Proficiency in problem solving, strong interpersonal, time management.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
ITIL Certification
Solid understanding of HIPAA and HITECH requirements
