JOB TITLE: Sr. Manager - Program

Job Summary:
This position reports directly to the Senior Director of the Enterprise PMO. The Sr Manager has three key areas of responsibility: 1. Leads and directs projects in support of Mednax strategic direction and critical initiatives, 2. Manages and leads a portfolio of projects aligned to a business area, 3. Manages Enterprise PMO resources administratively, and 4. Supports and enhances the Enterprise PMO operation.
Responsible for all aspects of the Agile or Waterfall project lifecycle from ideation, assessment, planning, execution, monitoring and optimization. This role combines not only traditional project management, but also a strong degree of business operations and organizational transformation analysis. The Sr Manager is tasked with delivering solutions that are systematic, nimble and scalable that incorporates business process management, advanced technology solutions and the impact on organizational culture and transformation.
When leading a portfolio works with business area executives to define a roadmap of projects that will support and enable them to meet their strategic objectives.
Administrative resource management includes helping the team to improve performance, grow their career, and progress in alignment with both the individuals desires and the needs of Mednax. Tactically this will include preparing and delivering annual performance reviews and formal and informal coaching and guidance.
The Sr Manager will also be a valuable member of the Enterprise PMO leadership group and will be responsible to not only champion the methods and policies, but also to support the operation and contribute to its evolution. The Enterprise PMO must keep up with the changes in technology and approaches to delivering solutions while being an enabler to ensure the right projects are completed at the right time bringing the best value to Mednax.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Technology or related from a four-year college or university
    • Project Management Certification or equivalent, Six Sigma, Lean or related certification desired, but not required
    • Master's Degree in Business, Engineering or related, Experience in strategic planning a STRONG PLUS
    • Demonstrated experience in the following:
    • Project management including portfolio management
    • Resource management
    • Vendor relationship management
    • Critical thinking and problem solving techniques
    • Change management tactics
    • Business process improvement and management
    • Managing large scale teams
    • Quantification of outcomes and measurements
    • Budgetary responsibilities to include budget tracking and reporting
Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; daily use of extensive computer software, spreadsheets, and flow-charting. Software includes Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Visio.

Responsibilities

    • Provide effective project management by employing practical, proven project management methodology and tools & techniques.
    • Ensure common understanding of project goals by setting and managing expectations.
    • Facilitate change management, focusing on process integration/analysis and measurement.
    • Identify project resource needs, assemble, and manage the project team to ensure timely focus on the project activities.
    • Quantify and articulate desired outcomes and measurements to include costs, benefits, and return on investment.
    • Analyze impact on business processes and handoffs between departments and functions and leads the team to identify and implement process improvements to benefit the business.
    • Establish priorities which meet the project goals and objectives.
    • Provide and maintain all detailed project documentation including but not limited to project definition, roadmaps, project plans, business requirements, test plans, etc.
    • Coordinate the gathering of requirements to define the scope and deliverables of the project in collaboration with leadership, process owners and operational team members.
    • Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
    • Anticipate potential schedule or priority delays and initiates plans for alternative actions.
    • Resolve problems, identify trends, and determine process and system improvements.
    • Clearly communicate from the top down and bottom up regarding project, portfolio, and Enterprise PMO initiatives, successes, and challenges.
    • Manage and oversee multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
    • Build mutual trust and encourages respect and cooperation among team members.
    • Manage team of 5-10 through annual performance evaluation, ongoing career progression, and provide coaching and mentoring to enable success.
    • Possess strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.
    • Identifies best practice solutions and information technology applications/ data structures.
    • Manages relationships with vendors.
    • Provides input into contract negotiation.
    • Compliance with Enterprise PMO methods and standards, while working with leadership to identify and implement opportunities to improve effectiveness.
    • Active member of the Enterprise PMO leadership team.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
