Agile Test Engineer

Job Description
Job Summary: Provide comprehensive Testing services for an assigned group of applications.
Works closely with program team as the program Lead Testing engineer and reviews: Requirements, Use Case Diagrams and final Use Cases. Review User Stories and daily plan/task list with on/off-shore Testers to ensure complete understanding and prioritization of sprint goals and requirements. Oversee, develop and execute the formal Testing plans, including but not limited to gathering data for planning, execution, and reporting of Testing tasks and Testing status. Tracking defects to resolution and effectively report status and results to project/program stakeholders. Participate in Daily Stand-up's and product grooming and sprint retrospectives.


Requirements
  • Major Responsibilities: Expert/lead technical Testing role. Provides Testing direction, guidance and integrated solutions to enterprise-wide change initiatives. Works on programs as a Testing leader or as the subject matter expert. Works on programs of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.
  • Duties include: Leads the design and execution of integrated Test plans, execution of Testing processes, and ensures adequate Testing coverage of User Stories.
  • Review/verify User Stories and ensure sprint deliverables adhere to Iterative Testing framework
  • Participate in Story Point estimation.
  • Acts as expert resource in partnership with the development and business teams in all phases of Testing.
  • Researches and evaluates the most efficient and cost effective approach.
  • Provide go/no go recommendation on production implementations of new and modified software, based on demo to show product quality.
  • Participates in group sprint planning and makes key recommendations /decisions for Testing direction.
  • Works directly with onshore/offshore Testing team as needed to execute Testing cases.
  • Oversees the full life cycle of sprint Testing and reviews outputs
  • As a result of daily stand-ups: assign Testing tasks, review daily progress, re-directs resources based on changing priorities or changing risks within a current sprint.
  • When applicable/required, oversee and conduct regression Testing and evaluate results. Analyze Test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend remediation if needed.
  • Consults with development team in resolution of problems.
  • Maintains documentation of Testing results in standard defect tracking tool.
  • Creates and provides Testing status in daily standup meetings.


Qualifications:
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Testing/Application Testing
  • 3+ years of Agile/Iterative methodology
  • Strong Banking domain experience.
  • Create/update/review test/Testing strategies.
  • Create/update/review/execute test/Testing cases.
  • Experience working with distributed (off-shore) test teams.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – networking, building relationships, teamwork.
  • Self-motivated, work well in a team structure or independently.
  • BS degree or bachelors in tech. or equivalent experience.
