Splunk Lead Developer

The Splunk Lead Developer will develop and oversee the development of efficient, complex dashboards, reports, searches, alerts and other knowledge objects to meet the needs of an extensive number of Splunk users as well as managing and building out IT Service Intelligence implementations. He or she will drive Splunk Development and IT Service Intelligence best practices, coach and mentor the other developers on the team, work with an extended user community to share knowledge and developed assets, provide input into the development of data models, pivots, KPIs, Glass Tables, and ITSI services, and curate internally developed applications for knowledge sharing and cross-functional learning.

• 4+ years' experience as a Splunk Developer
• 1+ years' experience with ITSI
• Certified as either Splunk Admin or Power User
• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum 5 years of information technology experience or, in lieu of a Bachelor Degree, a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 9 years of information technology experience


"• Expertise in developing, supporting and maintaining complex Splunk Apps, Data Models and Pivots
• In-depth knowledge of ITSI, including performance, tuning and adaptive thresholds
• Knowledge of Splunk, key operational data sources, and surrounding systems and architecture required
• Expert knowledge of Splunk Application Development, including scripting and API development
• Excellent data visualization skills with an ability to correlate that into visual reports.
• Proven track record teaching, coaching and mentoring other Splunk Developers
• Knowledge of Data Analytics
• Results driven, strategic, conceptual, and innovative thinker
• Excellent consulting skills and superior ability to develop and maintain effective client relationships
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Expertise to clearly define complex issues despite incomplete or ambiguous information

"• Develop complex dashboards and optimize searching for users across the firm
• Implement ITSI KPIs, Services, Glass Tables and Entities for users across the firm
• Support development of scripts (python, JavaScript, etc.) as needed in support of data collection or integration
• Develop new applications leveraging Splunk's analytic and Machine Learning tools to maximize performance, availability and security improving business insight and operations.
• Coach and mentor other developers on the Splunk team and across the firm
• Prioritize and manage Splunk development requests
• Maintain documentation of applications and establish development standards
• Independently identify opportunities to improve operational or other performance for Security, IT Operations and other clients
