Job Description: DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• WORKS UNDER LIMITED SUPERVISION IN THE ADMINISTRATION, PLANNING, INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE, SECURITY MONITORING AND SUPPORT OF AGENCY'S FIREWALL SYSTEM AND NETWORK SWITCHES.
• NETWORK ANALYSIS OF AGENCY SYSTEMS AND BUSINESS NEEDS, AS REQUIRED, AND LEADS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NETWORK SPECIFICATIONS TO MEET THOSE NEEDS;
• CONFIGURE WEB FILTERING APPLICATIONS AND NETWORK DEVICES TO MEET USER REQUIREMENTS;
• MONITOR NETWORK PERFORMANCE FOR INFORMATION EVENT LOGS, ANALYZE, AND PERFORM ROUTINE SECURITY PRACTICES AS NEEDED
• MONITORS AND UPDATES NETWORK SYSTEMS WITH SECURITY CONTROLS
• PARTICIPATES IN THE ADMINISTRATION, PLANNING, INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE, SECURITY MONITORING AND SUPPORT OF THE AGENCY'S PERSONAL COMPUTERS, NETWORK SERVERS AND PERIPHERAL DEVICES.
• MAXIMIZE SECURITY CONTROLS USING INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICE;
• SUPPORTS AND ADHERES TO CHANGE MANAGEMENT PROCESS
• AWARENESS OF SECURITY-BASED CHANGES PROCESSES; I.E. PORT CHANGES, USER AUTHENTICATION, SYSTEM AND TRAFFIC LOGGING
• IDENTIFIES RISKS AND COMMUNICATES RISKS TO THE CIO AND IT TEAM;
• DEVELOPS TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION FOLLOWING AGENCY POLICIES; CJIS SECURITY GUIDANCE; STATE SECURITY STANDARDS;

• SKILLED IN VLAN AND VPN NETWORKING CONFIGURATIONS
• EXPERIENCED WITH WEB CONTENT FILTERING
• EXPERIENCED WITH NETWORK TOPOLOGIES AND MAP DESIGNS
• SKILLED WITH WIRELESS NETWORKS
• CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE WORKING KNOWLEDGE

BACHELOR'S DEGREE OR MASTER'S DEGREE IN NETWORK SECURITY, COMPUTER SCIENCE, OR INFORMATION SYSTEMS/TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT, INSTITUTE DEGREE/CERTIFICATE OR EQUIVALENT WORK EXPERIENCE.
