Job Title: Learning Experience Designer (Contract)
Department: Cox Automotive Marketing
Reports to: Director, Solutions Scaling
The Learning Experience Designer (contract) is responsible for the successful design and development of Instructor-led and Virtual workplace learning and development materials for Cox Automotive University. This individual will analyze assigned projects to determine learning objectives and design and develop materials for delivery methods including instructor-led, blended, virtual synchronous, and asynchronous environments.
The successful candidate will have proven proficiency utilizing rapid instructional design tools (including eLearning software and graphic design software) and processes as well as applying adult learning theories and experience writing learning objectives and developing assessments for multiple levels
The Learning Experience Designer (contract) will build and maintain strong partnerships with the Client Services team as well as various departments and job roles throughout Cox Automotive and our clients and partners to develop and provide innovative, engaging, and instructionally sound learning deliverables for our clients.
Key activities of the Learning Experience Designer include:
· Design and development of effective and engaging instructor-led and virtual learning materials that complement instructor-led content, effective in performance change, and are focused heavily on operational knowledge, business development, product knowledge, leadership and culture, process and tool use, and knowledge/skill reinforcement
· Responsible for partnering to develop a comprehensive learning lifecycle for the content presented
· Development, curation, and management of content repository for participants and program alumnae
· Contributing to learning needs analysis where applicable
Position Responsibilities
Design and develop innovative, and engaging learning materials
· Partner with CAU leadership to develop accurate and measurable learning objectives
· Effectively use technology to create innovative and engaging learning materials
· Partner closely with project team and learning lead to ensure business needs are met and learning strategies are aligned with learning deliverables
· Develop content and resources that support learner throughout learning lifecycle of topic (pre, during, and post)
· Develop content and resources which facilitate superior virtual delivery experience for novice virtual facilitators
· Develop experiences, participant materials, facilitator guides and support guides for participants’ managers
· Develop performance support resources for clients to use at moment-of-need
· Develop and maintain a repository of dealership best practices by department and role
Maintain knowledge of adult learning theory and industry standards
· Consistently seeks to improve learning materials through innovation, advancements in eLearning industry, and other opportunities for improvement
· Actively utilizes industry resources, including: websites, conferences, associations, etc.
· Develop strong relationships with SMEs and IDs throughout CAI to develop virtual content
Position Qualifications
· Atlanta based (with ability to travel, up to 15%)
· Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Psychology, or related field preferred and/or sufficient on-the-job experience
· Automotive OEM/dealership experience is a strong plus, but not a must
· Experience in developing position certification paths preferred
· 7+ years of Instructional Design experience (with minimum of 3 of those years focused on virtual design)
· Able to operate and thrive independently in fast paced and ambiguous environment with a mindset of continuous improvement
· Proven experience taking complex business concepts and converting them to creative, engaging, and relevant learning experiences
· Flexible to working extended hours, as needed, to meet client commitments and project deadlines
· Exceptional planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
· Instructional Design (Proficiency: Intermediate-Advanced) Proven experience designing, and developing learning deliverables against defined learning needs for blended, virtual, self-paced, and in-class delivery (including use of eLearning Authoring software, such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia Studio, Adobe Creative Suite (PremierePro, After Effects, Audition) and Virtual Classroom (including WebEx Training center, Skype for Business, GotoMeeting)
o NOTE: portfolio of work samples will be requested as part of interview process)
· Multimedia Development (Proficiency: Intermediate) Demonstrated experience creating educational audio and video, including script writing and storyboarding (voiceover training and experience a bonus)
· Graphic Design (Proficiency: Intermediate – Advanced) Experience with graphic design for learning (documentation, presentations, guides, self-paced modules, etc.) and graphic learning software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), SnagIt
· Business and Collaboration Software (Proficiency: Intermediate – Advanced) Demonstrated experience using software to complete projects and stay connected with key partners, such as MS Office, DropBox, SmartSheet
· Learning Management System (Proficiency: Intermediate – Advanced) Proven experience uploading courses and accessing Learner Transcripts, Reports, etc.
· Communication Skills (Proficiency: Advanced) Demonstrable advanced communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
