Northrop Grumman Information Systems is seeking a Mainframe Programmer / Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Eagan, MN. This is an on-site position with no telecommute possibilities.

Work the technology you need to succeed.... The qualified applicant will become part of the Northrop Grumman's ETS Contract with the United States Postal Service, bringing top of the line professional technologists to their teams. The Mainframe Programmer Analyst will build and code applications and/or modules using languages such as COBOL
and CICS. Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems. May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. May also build add-on modules using application program language. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with the Agile methodology.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Advanced knowledge of IBM batch, CICS, VSAM, online and database mainframe systems.
Knowledge of how to retrieve, edit and restore program code using the Changeman software
Senior level analyst ability to research and investigate data problems and program abends in a JCL batch and online CICS environments.
Senior level experience in a development environment using MS suite tools to help: define customer specifications, create project plans work load estimates and design adequate testing requirements.
Must have great soft skills. Will be dealing directly with customers
Working with a team utilizing Agile methods.

Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Bachelors degree in related discipline and 5 Years experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
5 years COBOL development and support
5 years CICS development and support
5 years IBM mainframe experience
Knowledge of FTP, AFT, EASYTRIEVE,FOCUS, JOBSCAN, FILEAID, SYNCSORT and MS access
Past experience and familiarity with Agile
Knowledge of how to retrieve, edit and restore program code using the Changeman software
Advanced knowledge of IBM batch, online and database mainframe systems.
Senior level analyst ability to research and investigate data problems and program abends in a JCL batch and online CICS environments
Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Designation, US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).
Must have lived in the US for the last 5 years
Must not have been outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years.
