Retirement Plan Internal Wholesaler

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
As a Retirement Plan Internal Wholesaler, you will play a critical role on the Internal Sales and Support team focusing on developing and maintaining relationships, in partnership with the External Retirement Plan Wholesaler, with existing financial professionals in order to sell American Funds products.
Responsibilities:
  • Proactively make outbound sales calls and plan analysis to manage presale coordination and entire sales process from proposal to resolution.
  • Assist Financial Professionals in reviewing proposals, positioning products and determining the best approach to closing sales opportunities, including developing strategies for Point of Sale (POS) meetings.
  • Schedule field associates at both POS and key office/adviser meetings.
  • Act as a technical and educational resource to the divisional business unit and other related areas as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years experience in sales or marketing and distributing qualified retirement plans, including 401(k), PSP, MMP and ERISA sponsored 403(b).
  • Ability to deliver consultative sales skills and an ability to handle objections.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal communication and sales skills that can thrive in a challenging and collaborative sales environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting in front of groups.
  • Demonstrates high level of time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail with integrity and ownership of work.
  • Client Series 6 and 63 licenses desired.
  • Bachelor's degree or RP industry accreditation (ASPPA) preferred.
