Credentialing Coordinator

To gather and analyze primary source verification of the credentialing and re-credentialing of applicants in accordance with the standards of all applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies (JCAHO, HCFA, other) as well as the Grady Health System Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations and Grady Health System policies and procedures.

Coordinates the functions of the organized medical staff and allied health professionals at Grady Health System that include participating in the credentialing and recredentialing and privileging functions for new applicants, provisional medical staff members and reappointments; on site resource for medical staff governance documents (bylaws, rules, credentialing and privileging criteria, polices), related requirements/standards, and other requests; participation in the maintenance of the credentialing databases and other databases used in the hospital; meeting management support for medical staff meetings and performance of general administrative duties for the medical staff when applicable.

Job Requirements:
1. Minimum 3 years of experience with credentialing and enrollment in a hospital, medical office or managed care setting and administrative support experience in a business office or preferably a health care environment
2. High School Diploma
3. Knowledge of State and Federal, JCAHO and NCQA regulatory standards and policies required.
4. Ability to compose and organize written documents and reports that are comprised of large amounts of data using Microsoft Office and Excel
5. Must work with a great attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
6. Ability to develop and implement methods and procedures for improvement
7. Must be able to work with time constraints, prioritize projects and multi-task
8. Certified Credentialing Specialist Certification preferred
9. CPCS certification required within one year of meeting qualifications to take certification exam, or time period specified by the Director of Medical Staff Services
