Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Control Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Merrifield VA. This is an onsite position with no telework possibilities.

Roles and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements.
• Troubleshoot issues with hardware and processes.
• Work with others to detect problems and implement solutions.
• Maintain quality and safety standards are upheld.

Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science or like field, and 9 years of experience. OR a Master’s degree and 6 years of experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of Automation and/or Controls Engineering experience
• Experience with Rockwell Automation software packages – including RSLogix 5000 and RSView
• Ability to read, interpret and modify PLC ladder logic
• Experience programming in HMI/GDU
• Demonstrated strong cause-effect analytical abilities to solve problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Client Position of Public Trust clearance - US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card Holder) is required
• Must not have traveled outside the United States for a combined period of 6 months (or longer) within the last 5 years; and must have resided in the United States for the last 5 years
• Position is based in Merrifield, VA and does not provide relocation assistance

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
• Prior experience in Material Handling industry (preferably in parcel sortation)
• Prior experience developing and implementing machine graphics and human machine interfaces
