Roles and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will manage, monitor, and conduct performance tuning of approximately 65 Windows 2008 R2 servers, 45 Point of Sale (POS) 2009 Ready POS terminals, 12 POS kiosks, and 15 POS hand held devices running iOS. Their duties will include troubleshooting event log errors, network errors and bottlenecks, and any hardware problems. They will be working with several Microsoft designed applications used for managing xml message traffic between the 65 servers referenced above, and approximately 45,000 POS terminals deployed throughout the country.

Basic Qualifications:

The candidate must possess the following technical experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computers, Engineering, or like field.
• 8 years of IT experience.
• 3-5 years of recent experience with:
o Installing Windows Server 2008 over a network
o Configuring performance monitoring and optimization Server 2008
o Securing files and resources server 2008
o Configuring protocols and network connections
o Deploying service packs
o Managing group permissions
• Competent in all current Microsoft OS levels.
• 3-5 years experience working with Point of Sale (POS) Devices such as bar code scanner, scale, credit card reader, receipt and label printers, etc.
• Experience with management of large and complex Active Directory domains, including both server and workstation placement.
• Experience with large-scale deployment tools at both server and workstation levels.
• Experience with managing patching operations for all Microsoft OS, and common products in that arena.
• Virtual Machine system administration experience useful.
• Strong organization and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with and balance multiple priorities. Ability to deal with ambiguity and rapid change. Demonstrated interaction skills across a wide spectrum of technical contacts and teams.
• Must also have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to obtain a Postal Sensitive Clearance (US Citizenship or Green Card status required).
• Must have resided in U.S. for last 5 years and not traveled outside the U.S. for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications: MCSE certified
