Core technology department is responsible to ensure departments are managing their technology responsibilities well, establish standard ways to coordinate and leverage common technology assets, create transparency into technology plans, performance and trajectory across departments and technology needs of corporate departments are met

As L3 SME (assumed owners of assets), they would view individual activities in the broader context of the asset and the asset portfolio. With respect to urgent requests, Service Desk escalations, asset health activities, etc., the bias is to work at the level of how does this strengthen the overall support infrastructure, and not just how to resolve the immediate customer need.

The L3 engineers are not the creator of an asset nor the strategic shaper of an asset. However, they are expected to maintain an opinion as to how well the asset achieves the business goals and to raise gaps and recommendations of possible approaches to shape the asset to better support the business.

  • Maintaining the health of the Assets in his/her portfolio through the Asset lifecycle (through and including end-of-life)
  • Reducing the complexity of supporting the delivery of the assets and institutionalizing support
  • Manage/resolve high priority and business impacting incidents as last point of escalation
  • Perceive technology problems around application and infrastructure, recommend solutions to meet business goals
  • CAB representation to evaluate changes and the associated risks, subsequent sign off/approval
  • Ownership in keeping technology stable within Core tech department
  • SME level inputs for migration initiatives that impacts the application landscape such as Win 7 migration, Windows 2012 server migration, Data Center migration etc
  • Making development and enhancement activities of larger programs around the applications under Core tech
  • Ensure to provide a tested DR environment that should meet the BCM responsibility for its mission critical applications/systems to its business stakeholders

Skills / experience:
  • At least 7 - 10 years of solid development experience in .NET technologies and SQL Server database technology
  • Very good understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems and network to correlate application and infrastructure
  • Prefers to have understanding of Load balancers and monitoring tools like Sitescope, spectrum, SCOM etc
  • Experience of platform/technology migration projects
  • Prefers to have knowledge and experience of production support processes
  • Scripting knowledge on Powershell, Python, Shell is preferred
  • SQL experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Previous Financial Services experience strongly preferred.
