Description:

Basic Function: The EHS Contractor is responsible for maintaining, and implementing the Company’s EHS programs to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with all pertinent regulations through daily interaction with Contractor, supervisors and employees. A significant amount of time will be spent in the production areas observing and advising personnel on EHS related matters.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Maintains and implements Safety and Environmental programs all regulatory agencies.
B. EHS training needs companywide and oversees completion.
C. Manages day to day EHS functions for assigned facilities.
D. Reviews OSHA and EPA regulations for changes.
E. Oversees incident investigations for assigned facilities
F. Maintains OSHA 300 logs for assigned facilities
G. Leads Safety Team meetings for assigned facilities.
H. Supports HR in Workers’ Comp. reviews and ensures compliance.
I. Supports hourly associates with regards to safety programs.
J. Reviews new projects which involve new equipment or changes to equipment.
K. Ensures mandatory EHS training is completed company wide.
L. Participates in company and functional required meetings.
M. Establishes individual goals which are aligned with the Company's business strategies and objectives.
N. Functions as a contributing member of the department's team and other teams, as assigned.
O. Performs other duties as assigned by EHS team.
P. Implements and maintains a chemical mgt program including approval of SDSs, haz com training, and Waste disposal.
Q. Implements and maintains a contractor safety program including approving contractors, and performing routine contractor project inspections.
R. Implements and maintains a PPE program that includes identifying the appropriate PPE for job functions, training, and supporting the proper purchase of PPE with the purchasing team
S. Implements and maintains a comprehensive LOTO program that includes LOTO procedures and training
T. Participates with local emergency response ensuring that there is site preparedness for any crisis
U. Encourage employee participation through energy and passion for all EHS programs
V. Identify and manage any high risk operations
W. Implement IH programs including managing consultants for monitoring

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
A. Ability to maintain considerable levels of concentration while working under constant time pressures and constant interruptions.
B. Ability to maintain visual attention including color vision and depth perception.
C. Ability to sometimes lift or carry 10 to 15 pounds.
D. Ability to frequently stand for extended periods of time.
E. Ability to sometimes reach with hands and arms above shoulders, forward and to sides.
F. Ability to sometimes squat, kneel or bend.
G. Ability to sometimes sit for extended periods of time.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
A. This position requires working in the internal and external environment.
B. This position requires exposure to equipment that has the potential to be dangerous.
C. This position requires working nights, weekends or non-regular hours to meet deadlines. It is a 24-hour on call position for emergencies. And requires accessibility by mobile phone at all times.
D. This position requires occasional travel.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
A. Advanced degree in a related field.
B. 2 - 5 years experience.
C. Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state and federal safety rules and regulations.
D. Understanding of workers’ compensation and injury management.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS
A. Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and peripherals.
