Position Summary
Client Small Business is looking for a Lead Test Automation Engineer to join the SMB Development Team to help drive mobile test automation for the Client Silver applications across platforms. The Lead Test Automation Engineer will work with and mentor a distributed automation team to provide guidance on the framework, test design, and enforce the use of best practices and standards. The Lead Test Automation Engineer will have a proven track record in creating and implementing mobile test automation suites, resulting in minimized test execution times, higher quality and increased development agility.


Responsibilities
  • Building test automation infrastructure to enable continuous deployment.
  • Hands on development of functional, regression and performance tests using an automation framework coding in Java with Selenium utilizing Appium and TestNg.
  • Understanding our complex domain and product in detail and putting that understanding to use to ensure optimal test coverage.
  • Leading a team of development test engineers through the automation process.
  • Managing test environments, test devices and OS versions required for testing.
  • Acting as a technical mentor to junior automation engineers, code review new/modified tests and introduce improved automation techniques.
  • Defining test strategy and test plans and reviewing them with stake holders.
  • Representing the customer, understanding how they use the system and including the most relevant end to end user scenarios in test plans and automation.
  • Improving test coverage.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong coding experience with automated web testing tools, services, and physical devices.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools like; Selenium, TestNG, Appium, Postman.
  • Automation architecture development and/or maintenance experience.
  • Experience writing UI automation using web driver.
  • 6+ years' experience in test automation.
  • Experience writing continuous deployment test automation for back-end services.
  • Creativity and initiative to improve test coverage and effectiveness.
  • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing and executing Performance tests
  • Java, Appium, TestNg,Log4J, Ini4j, Gradle, Selenium, Docker, Jenkins
  • MS SQL
  • Deep understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, algorithms and data structures.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable automation with maximum longevity.
  • Strong defect, issue logging, and documentation and tracking using JIRA and/or Confluence
  • Previous experience with mobility testing
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to decompose complex problems and perform root cause analyses
