Job Title: Lead Business Architect

Experis is partnered with a health insurance support provider in their search for a Lead Business Architect to join their team in Reston, VA supporting various data analytics projects in their Health IT space for a 6 month+ contract opportunity. Occasional local travel may be required. Candidates must have a background in data analytics and big data initiatives.

Business Architecture is a critical function at the client center. This role helps to drive business strategy to execution and align projects to strategic direction. the client recently embarked on a multi-year technology modernization and transformation program. One critical component of this program is to mature the client's data analytics capabilities and infrastructure.

Principal Accountabilities:

The Lead Business Architect will partner with product owners to support the design and delivery of outstanding data analytic business capabilities to our customers. She/he will assess and document current and target state business capabilities, value streams, business processes and functional needs across the enterprise, in support of the client'ss data analytics and data integration program.

Incumbent will:

Proactively support the alignment of data analytics projects to enterprise business objectives in support of client's strategy.
Provide leadership in mapping and modeling to enhance customer value for the data-centric business solutions delivered to the 35 Client Plans and the client's program.
Create and maintain business models and architectural artifacts in a multi-system/multi-platform IT environment; creating a business foundation for the enterprise to enhance business drivers, accountabilities and improve decision making.

Specifically, the Lead Business Architect duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Facilitate and lead interactions with customers to understand business opportunities and challenges.
Align project scope with enterprise business strategy.
Assess business value of projects.
Translate business opportunities into business architecture artifacts including current state diagrams, future state diagrams, roadmaps, business architecture, value streams, process models, high level business requirements, metadata and other architectural artifacts as needed.
Lead peer and stakeholder review of proposed business architecture.
Review solution architecture and data architecture to ensure business functions and features are being delivered.
Provide business architecture context to business analysts, data analysts, business intelligence designers and data architects/modelers to assure solution alignment with business goals.
Advise business change management team of the target state architecture and its implications and impacts for stakeholders.
Maintain artifacts in business architecture repository (ProVision).
Provide architectural subject matter expertise to internal and external clients throughout project lifecycle, including communicating architectural decisions and educating on the implications of business architecture on requirements, data models, and analytics design.
Seek opportunities to demonstrate the value of business architecture with internal and external clients and mature the business architecture practice.

Required qualifications for the Lead Business Architect position include:

BA/BS and 8+ years of experience as a Business Architect.
Business and/or business architecture experience in the healthcare payer/health IT industry and/or data analytics and big data initiatives.
Knowledge, experience and demonstrated understanding of various data architectures and systems integration concepts.
Awareness of new data and analytics technologies and their potential to drive business strategies and initiatives.
Demonstrated success in large scale business transformation.
Excellent strategic thinking and leadership skills. Ability to contribute toward big picture strategy and solutions while delivering on tasks.
Visionary in anticipating future business and IT direction and able to communicate that vision to IT and business partners.
Working knowledge of multiple business and enterprise architecture methodologies and tools. Certified Business Architect (CBA), The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification and/or comparable certifications. Strong ability to explain and demonstrate the value of business architecture.
Experience in IT strategic planning, business strategy development, and business process re-engineering or process improvement involving broad-based information systems.
Effective facilitation and negotiation skills.
Effective organizational, interpersonal/relationship management, analytical, communications (written and verbal) and collaboration skills at all levels.
Self-motivated, adaptable to change, forward-thinking.
Must be able to prioritize and manage time under tight deadlines, and demonstrate initiative in problem-solving.

Preferred qualifications for the Lead Business Architect position include:

Masters in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
Active participant in business architecture organizations.
Experience using ProVision.
Familiarity with Big Data concepts.
Familiarity with MicroStrategy.
