This position is NonExempt. Hours over 40 will be paid at Time and a Half. Manages/directs the activities and people associated with small to large scale projects with a focus on any or several non-IT business applications and disciplines. Manage/direct all facets of single or multiple, multidimensional, mission-critical projects through the Full Project Life Cycle. Collaborate/work with project sponsors, business units and users to identify project scope and focus, develop or monitor project initiatives, implement project requirements/plans/processes/tools, assign/guide/monitor project staff, and assure project success. Deliver quality project solutions to business problems or issues within defined budgets and/or timelines. Provide expert project guidance/support proactively through project completion. Provide tracking, reporting, and presentation to management and users. 7+ years experience

Job Title: MDM Project Manager

Lead operational and strategic projects for centralized master data organization reporting to Director, Master Data Shared Services. Develop, execute and manage shared services and technology projects within the defined scope. Expedite, manage and coordinate a multitude of interrelated project activities within the constraints of human and financial resources and changing priorities to ensure the successful completion of projects. Liaise with business process stakeholders across organizations and geographies on behalf of the enterprise business process (master data) owners. Provide administrative and technical leadership, and act as SME for master data management team for SAP MDG future migrations. Act as trainer and mentor for team members. Develop team member’s skill sets through training. Contribute to constant improvement in the quality and accuracy of the master data to ensure uninterrupted business continuity.


STRATEGIC PROJECTS – Direct master data during Phase 1 and future Phases for MDG as well as future ERP implementations. Conduct benchmarking studies, identify opportunities, and draft proposals and business cases for corporate projects. Converts goals to detailed project plans; gathers information regarding effort, resources, technical complexity and translates that information into project specifications.
Establishes Goals and Develops Plans: Provide conceptual framework for plan; defines milestones; reviews project load and recommends staffing; reviews status, suggests revisions to plan as necessary; develops/recommends budgets. Ensure focus on change management including appropriate cascading of information.
PROCESS DESIGN – Lead data definition, data conversion, report definition and testing in support of master data management initiatives, as well as business and IT projects. Work with IT Project managers, division SMEs and process leads to evaluate functional processes and identify master data requirements. Develop business rules to support division CRUD activities by expanding IVM utilization.
DATA QUALITY – Evaluate tools and strategies to develop and maintain data quality program in SAP InfoSteward. Identify key areas for data quality reporting and develop KPIs. Work with system developers and data analysts to implement automated reporting.
TRAINING / KNOWLEDGE SHARING- Provide process training and support master data analysts, ERP implementation team, and SMEs to ensure they are competent and information accuracy is maintained. Ensure all processes for master data management and reporting are documented.
COMPLIANCE - Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies, processes and procedures and where necessary introducing new compliance documents. Provide input on security issues to ensure access to system data is appropriate and kept current taking both SOD and Data Privacy into account. Develop in depth knowledge of current / future global data privacy regulations.

CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT - Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with operational counterparts across appropriate stakeholders, including but not limited to ERP teams and legacy business process owners.
CHANGE MANAGEMENT – Support organizational change across functional and geographical areas ensuring successful implementation of master data and related practices. Evaluates the impact of project changes and adjusts implementation activities to meet revisions. Clearly communicates any changes and the impact to original plan to the cross-functional team and senior management in a timely fashion.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Recommends innovative ways to improve performance, quality and enhance profitability on an ongoing basis; modifies work processes and procedures in line with Abbott’s quality and regulatory requirements. Works with cross-functional team to implement best practices and provide direction towards becoming a MDM Center of Excellence.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline
MBA desired.
Minimum Experience / Training Required:
At least 6 yrs. experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience managing projects. Total Combined Experience: 7-10 years
Experienced in MDG, InfoSteward and Data Services technology for SAP Master Data – Customer, Material, Vendor (e.g.: Data profiling, Data cleansing, Data harmonization, etc.)
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in SAP Data Management and Governance, SAP Data Services (Data Extract, Data Profiling, de-duplication)
Lean Six Sigma certification a plus.
Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
