Assists with pre- and/or post sales technical product advice for the development and implementation of customer solutions. Assists sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing initial product specifications. Assists in the preparation and presentation of technical proposals, including product demonstrations and product prototypes. Assists in the preparation and presentation of customer needs plan to company teams to assure complete plan is feasible within cost, time, and environment constraints.

The candidate will be responsible for working on a proposal team as a contributing member, maintaining and upgrading proposal templates, format, standard content, and related pricing tools to support product and service enhancements over time.

Responsibilities:

• Assist manufacturing facilities with any technical, legal or commercial clarifications, including coordination with internal and/or external technical, legal or commercial resources, customers, consultants, etc.
• Assist in preparation of final proposals for submittal to customer, including any documentation such as technical data sheets, bids forms, commercial forms, legal forms, bid bonds, etc.
• Coordinate proposal submittal with business development and sales team. Track bid results and participate in negotiations and bid modifications as necessary.
• Register bid results in database in order to compile statistics on bid performance, hit rate and market penetration. Prepare reports on proposals as required.
• Receive orders from customers and prepare order entry information to transfer to project management and contract administration team. Participate in internal and/or external kickoff meetings as required to facilitate the smooth transfer of orders.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• Customer Focus: Ability to anticipate and understand customers’ needs, be responsive and keep commitments.
• Understanding of purchase order contract language and associated legal implications
• Good organizational skills to respond to multiple inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Attention to detail with a strong focus on time and task management, capable of handling many orders and tasks in parallel.
• The candidate must be quality focused and continually seek better and more efficient ways of improving responsiveness to market needs.
• Demonstrated effective written and oral communications skills
• Ability to independently function in a changing, high-impact position, with deadline and resource constraints
• Identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is not difficult or complex.
• Experience with a PC based word processor and spreadsheet required
