Test Specialist-Agency

Location: Hawthorne, California
Responsibilities:
• Working with design engineers to develop and document test procedures
• Perform tests according to procedure
• Maintaining database of test results
• Designing fixtures and adaptors needed to perform tests

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory or other hands on technical position
• At least 1 year of experience working with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards
• At least 1 year of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• At least 1 year of experience using hand tools and small power tools
• At least 1 year of experience working with Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Mechanical aptitude and experience
• Ability to visualize 3D objects based on 2D drawings
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and reports
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics
• Ability to utilize test instrumentation and control components: pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, flow meters, load cells, relays, solenoid valves
• Experience working with National Instruments LabVIEW software

Additional Requirements:
• General physical fitness is required for some work areas, flight hardware is typically built in tight quarters and physical dexterity is required
• Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying weight such as materials or equipment
• Occasionally exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments- heat, cold, rain
• Work performed in an environment required exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
• Typically 50 hour work weeks, schedule varies depending on site operational needs, flexibility required
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• Overtime is frequently required for particular tasks or test series
