***One position floating between our Danville and Bloomsburg locations, One position dedicated to the Williamsport location***** Provides primary clinical support to the provider, patient and their family to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient's condition in the urgent care setting. Follows up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing of same in medical record to ensure continuity and quality of care. Promotes a clean environment. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in specific age range on their assigned clinical area. Works under the general direction of the Site Lead for daily operational issues and reports directly the Director of Nursing. Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction. Major Duties and Responsibilities *1. Obtains and documents patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs and provides basic medical data base for the provider, and prepares patient for examinations. *2. Provides direct clinical care as directed by the provider. *3. Assists provider in performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations as directed by provider to facilitate accurate diagnosis. *4. Collects and prepares laboratory specimens (blood, urine, sputum, wound secretions) and completes associated paperwork (request slips, lab log, container labels, billing documents) to expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency. *5. Matches all incoming laboratory reports, radiology interpretations, consultation reports, and diagnostic examination results with patient's medical record to create a complete and accurate medical record. *6. Executes and documents ongoing patient communication, as directed by provider, prioritizes communications to the provider, responds to patient questions and requests to ensure efficient use of provider time and timely response to patient's needs. *8. Reviews and reinforces instruction as directed by provider to ensure patient's understanding of medical condition and compliance with treatment instructions. *9. Inserts, monitors, regulates and discontinues IVs as required by provider and per scope of practice. *10. Administers medications and vaccines including intradermal/skin testing under the direction of a provider and per scope of practice. 11. May clean, sterilize (when appropriate) and prepare instruments, according to established protocols, to ensure required level of asepsis and adequate availability. *12. Routinely inspects/observes condition and operation of diagnostic equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and identify need for preventive and/or corrective maintenance. May assist in specific laboratory functions as defined by CLIA relative to the testing, reporting, and quality assurance of laboratory specimens as trained and directed by the provider. *13. Cleans/sets up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensures required level of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and preparation of patient. Competencies and Skills Demonstrates skills in decision making, problem solving and independent nursing judgment. Demonstrates competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills. Demonstrates intermediate typing, keyboarding and Internet navigation skills Demonstrates competence in customer service skills. Must be able to maintain a creative energetic outlook in problem solving. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, flexibility to deal with variety of clinic settings, and a broad knowledge of general nursing and occupational health. Education/Experience Graduate of accredited nursing program and current Pennsylvania licensure required. Certification in Basic Life Support required. Minimum of two years nursing experience required. Urgent Care, Emergency Room, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Critical Care nursing experience preferred. Working Conditions Work is typically performed in a clinic environment. May require travel regionally to multiple CareWorks primary care sites. Number of Positions: 2 Shift Hours: 9:00a-8:00p when scheduled Monday through Friday and 8:00a-6:00p on Saturday and Sundays.
