Specialized Knowledge & Skills
  • The successful candidate must have an in depth knowledge of current Windows information technology systems, infrastructures, and technologies.
  • Candidate must also have significant technical background, experience and familiarity with Windows servers: Design, Configuration, and Administration of Windows 2008r2/2012 r2/2016.
  • Experience with managing and administrating SharePoint and Exchange
  • Strong working knowledge in Office365 and its related online products (e.g. SharePoint, Exchange, PowerBi)
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience of Microsoft Infrastructure – Active Directory domains, DNS, DHCP, File Sharing and Permissions, Group Policies, SQL DB, etc.
  • Create and maintain a patch management strategy for tools and methods including tools that maintain a secure computing environment utilizing AWS.
  • Administration and monitoring of a corporate network and cloud-based systems
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and usage of deployment and task automation using Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Ability to work independently with some guidance from supervisor/manager
  • Strong analytical skills; Able to assess and solve issues in a high-pressure environment.
  • Able to work effectively with other groups and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of supporting MS tools (SCCM, SCOM, MDT, DNS, networking, storage, clustering).
  • Scripting and/or programming (Power Shell, VB Script or other)
  • Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot windows software deployment
  • Reviewing service related reports such as backups; maintenance; and monitoring on a daily basis
  • Participate in researching solutions to various business and technical problems; evaluate alternatives; and provide recommendations
  • Establishing and performing maintenance plan activities
  • Provide Tier 3 support for customers and technical staff
  • Performance analysis, tuning and optimization on various hardware platforms
  • Experience with VoIP communications systems.
  • Work as technical liaison between liaison between management, employees, vendors, support, and consultants.
  • Provide support to internal users in a traditional help desk environment, including provisioning new equipment, operating systems, applications, and peripherals.
  • Expert knowledge of Windows environment
  • Cloud computing experience operating large cloud based environments for production applications preferred, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or other large scale cloud deployment.
  • Knowledge of Data Center networks, routing, switching, firewalls and site to site connectivity.
  • Knowledge of File Transfer applications such as IBM Sterling Gateway, CA XML Gateway etc,
  • Experience with 3 tier application architecture running IIS, SQL and Oracle.
  • Experience with continuous integration platforms
  • Experience with at least one scripting language including Python, PERL, Ruby, Shell.
  • ITIL based experience with Incident, Problem, Change and configuration management
  • Windows certifications, such as those provided by Microsoft, desired

Job Information
This role concentrates on the implementation and operations of a cloud datacenter infrastructure, datacenter administration, servers, storage, middleware, non-application software, networks, and operations that support the applications and business processes as required. Operations Lead is a technical hands-on opportunity to work in a cloud for an enterprise company addressing critical marketplace innovation & pushing the envelope of a high volume infrastructure to scale horizontally to address security, reliability, performance, availability and scalability of the infrastructure.

Key Job Functions

  • Manage incident resolution within the environment, facilitating collaboration among other infrastructure and application support teams as required.
  • Serve as an escalation point from third party support teams for major incidents, and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders as required.
  • Managing the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and support of operating systems (Windows, Linux), devices, hardware, software, etc.
  • Partner with and influence stakeholders to promote simplification, standardization and innovation and to ensure risk are understood and minimized.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and resolving complex, multi-tier problems that span a number of different components.
  • Automate production operations processes.
  • Automate continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Implement application performance monitoring to ensure platform uptime and performance
  • Define, measure, and meet key operational metrics including performance, incidents and chronic problems, traffic and conversion, etc.
  • Ensure that change management projects manage risk to applications and technologies. Design project to minimize disruption and help maintain consistency in critical environments. Work with support teams to manage approvals for changes impacting production.
  • Establish strategic direction for operating system platforms including technology reviews, analysis and selection in order to ensure company has adequate infrastructure to provide suitable operating environment(s) for various applications.
  • Develop architecture strategies to ensure that current products can continue to evolve into the next generation storage, to ensure cost-effective data protection solutions, and to ensure scalable solutions for enterprise-wide deployment.
