Network Engineer

Responsible for:
  • Designing, configuring, installing and maintaining the network infrastructure while providing quality and efficient network administration support
  • Monitoring the data communications to ensure network is available to all users
Qualifications:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or engineering, MIS, or a related field required
  • Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
Experience
  • Minimum of four years network infrastructure experience required
Technical

Based on assigned function:
  • Hardware: Switches, routers, CSU/DSU
  • Software: UNIX, intrusion detection system, firewalls, Windows OS, IP Telephony, network management systems, and network analysis
  • The following are preferred:
    • CCIE, CISCO, Multi Vendor experience, WAN, Firewall, and Network Design on large scale networks
Other
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel required
  • Cisco or other network vendor professional level certification (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, CCVP, CCDP, etc.) preferred
