The primary objective of this strategic position is to play a major role with the cross-functional team across business units to increase profitable revenue growth for the Walmart/Sam's Club US business. This quota-carrying role includes solving business problems, executing winning sales strategies and developing long –term account relationships across multiple engagements. The individual must have a track record of operating within a high-performing team matrix management environment where team members are motivated to perform at their fullest potential and creatively drive customer solutions and deliver exceptional customer service. This strategic role requires effective collaboration and communication within our company; including the executive team, product management, support, marketing, services, and sales.

As the Walmart senior account executive, the positon will have shared accountability for solution revenue and annuity results, along with matrix responsibility for Software, Hardware, and Professional Services. There is intensive involvement with the professional services team and the customer account during all stages of the project lifecycle, from the initial stages of preparing a proposal, to the final stages of ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Takes responsibility for the development and successful implementation of Client solutions in an on-time, on–budget, with the highest quality, and to the customer's full satisfaction Work cohesively internally to bring about improved relationships with assigned customers.
  • Serve as a customer conduit between our delivery, development and services organizations
  • Serve as a liaison between members of upper management, internal sales support associates and the sales team. This position has significant impact on the success of the Americas Region and the division as a critical role for Client's largest global customer.
  • Drive interest in our software Hardware, professional services, and consulting offerings to Walmart and Sam's Club.
  • Become an advocate for client concerns to ensure appropriate level of customer focus is maintained.
  • Improve our quality of account planning and execution.
  • Develop systems integration and professional services opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of positive and effective contact with key customers to enhance opportunities for references, case studies, and new sales opportunities.
  • Maintain constant awareness of markets, competitor activities, and challenges within assigned customer base, recognize trends that develop, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Enable our executives to understand the key business imperatives and initiatives of key customers
  • Being a trusted advisor to our largest Retail customer. Single point of accountability focused on expanding and growing the partnership profitably and improving the customer experience.
  • Manage sales and business results in the account as if operating their own business, while acting in the best interest of the company at-large. This means continually growing volume while helping team members to solidify, elevate and nurture relationships within the account and all members of support groups internal to Client.
  • Manage the sales process and develop a strategic roadmap which aligns customer needs, issues, opportunities with industry best practices and our company's offerings.
  • Must be successful at working on customer site and in a team environment

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline
  • 10 years + of related business experience along with a proven track record of success in technology sales
  • Experience selling enterprise class Hardware, Software, and Services
  • Minimum 5 years managing high volume, complex accounts
  • Track record of success selling to Walmart
  • In-depth experience and understanding of the retail market and related competition
  • A deep understanding of Retail and customer intimacy at the C-level
  • Experience in developing and executing solution sales strategies.
  • Ability to communicate the business value and/or ROI of proposed programs, strong financial selling skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including establishing credibility and trust with partners and building influential relationships with the stakeholders, including Finance, Legal, Sales Ops, HR, Support Services, Marketing and Professional Services
  • Ability to work and manage in a matrix management environment.

  • Master's degree - MBA
  • Strong Executive Presence – this role will have extensive executive visibility both internally and externally
  • Project management skills; Client and Business plan management proficiency
