Network Administrator

Network/Servers Administrator by performing the following essential responsibilities:
  • Provide timely support and serve as the primary contact for critical and high application/network-based outages;
  • Provide Tier II infrastructure support to users and troubleshoots/resolves problems;
  • Administer/troubleshoot active directory group policies;
  • Plan, coordinate and implement server installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance;
  • Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels;
  • Provide performance statistics and reports;
  • Define and perform server backups and recovery procedures;
  • Participate in development, testing, and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans;
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other functional areas within IT to ensure reliability of IT infrastructure;
  • Participate in new installations, testing and special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or other applicable field AND one year (full-time equivalent) of recent server administration and/or networking administration experience that includes managing a virtual server environment.

Substitution: Two years of server administration and/or networking administration experience may substitute for each year of the required education. A Master's or doctoral degree in computer science, computer information systems or engineering or other applicable field from an accredited university or college may substitute for the bachelor's degree. There is no substitution for one year of server administration and/or networking administration work experience.

  • Recent experience with HyperV, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, Apache technologies
  • Knowledge of network operations, support, maintenance, and administration
  • Working knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, VoIP, NAT, VPN, IIS, access points, mobile devices
  • Recent CompTIA Server and/or Microsoft Certified Professionals cerification

Responsible for a variety of network engineering and administration tasks under supervision, which are broad in nature and are concerned with the sustained operation of integrated networks, including personnel, hardware, software and support facilities and/or equipment. Works under the Lead Network Administrators.

Plan and perform network administration research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with network design, engineering and customer specification under the supervision of Lead Network Administrators.
