Job Summary:
Under broad supervision, inventory, document and prepare servers, computers, and mobile devices, for deployment or salvage. Performs necessary maintenance to support system availability, and on a continuing basis provides user training and support either by phone, remote access or site visit.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Configures, and tests computer hardware, networking software and operating system software
  • Diagnoses hardware and software problems, replace defective components
  • Escalates problems to vendor and/or developer for advanced debugging or software correction
  • Evaluates new technologies or solutions to improve service and efficiency of systems
  • Monitors network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made
  • Operates consoles to monitor performance of the computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use
  • Performs data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Performs routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records
  1. Participates in research and stays abreast of technological advances suitable for addressing the systems requirements of customers.
  2. Disseminates new product information to users, managers, and other system personnel.
  3. Assists staff members in evaluating current and future directions of systems by applying knowledge, concepts, and ideas gained from participation in meeting and committees.
  4. Applies technical knowledge to meet business needs and requirements.
  • · Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
  1. Sets up accounts for new employees and closes accounts when no longer necessary.
  2. Increases account capacity when existing blocks are insufficient for work requirements.
  3. Establishes port connections for all new equipment to the network as needed.
  4. Sets up print queues and resolves network problems in accordance with established guidelines.
  5. Limits user access to specific areas per user needs.
  • Prepares user instructions and documentation for the installation and operation of software and software upgrades
Entry Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Two years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CompTA A+
  • Microsoft MCP
