Fixed Asset Accountant

The Excalibur Group is currently seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to join our dynamic team in Washington, DC to support a Federal Contract.

**Must be a U.S. Citizen, possess good-excellent credit, able to obtain a DOJ MBI Clearance and will be subject to a background/credit screen prior to employment.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed and personal property assets.
  • Recommend to management any updates to policies related to property controls.
  • Review asset acquisitions and process dispositions in the accounting system and ensure information is reconciled automated inventory system.
  • Reconcile assets to complete the 2018 inventory and plan for the 2019 fixed assets and Personal Property Inventory.
  • Review and update the detailed schedule of assets.
  • Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets and personal property.
  • Conduct periodic inventory/audits on assets and reconcile information to the financial system.
  • Conduct physical counts of assets and lost and found property.
  • Recommend to management whether assets should be disposed of.
  • Conduct analyses related to assets as requested by management.
  • Prepare audit schedules relating to assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
  • Track and reconcile company revenue and expenditures on assets.
REQUIREMENTS
  • The position is accountable for ensuring recording of assets; track and reconcile existing assets; conduct and ensure the proper accounting of disposed assets; plan, conduct and test for the 2018 and 2019 asset and property inventory/audit.
  • Works and interacts professionally and effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines and work as a team player in a professional office.
  • Skill in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • 3+ Years fixed asset/property accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting prefered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word.

PAY RATE
$20-27/hr.

HOURS OF OPERATION
Mon. – Fri. 8:30am – 5pm
Except Federal Holidays
