Job Title: OES Engineer

This position is primarily responsible for installs, development and scripting tasks associated with Oracle Entitlement Server to enable fine grain authorization in a mission critical enterprise application which is integrated with other security services. Incumbent should be familiar with installations, operation, support, and documentation of OES. Activities may include packaging, scripting installs, performance analysis / tuning, and development (Java). This position will work with OES architect on design and strategic implementation issues and with RBAC analyst on translating entitlements directly into resource objects, roles, and policies in OES.
Essential Functions:
  • Serve as internal point of contact for Oracle Entitlement Server (OES) issues with application owners and their representatives
  • Translate business requirements around authorization and user information objectives adhere to Identity and Access Management (IAM) program standards.
  • Provide technical expertise for the development of provisioning flows and OES entitlements.
  • Configure client solutions through non-production and production environments.
  • Understand logical event sequences necessary for successful authorization using different tools and standards such as but not limited to Oracle IdAM suite.
  • Configure OES via console, Weblogic, and back-end Java code.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with client integrations.
  • Produce documentation in accordance with company standards
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination across the enterprise related to identity and entitlement management policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Lead the documenting of OES and integration to other applications in accordance with company standards.
  • Prepare reports and artifacts for internal and external audits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Oracle Entitlement Server expert-level knowledge
  • Ability to understand technical RBAC roles and translate into OES resource objects.
  • Effectively communicating requirements to stakeholders, managing conflicts, issues and changes in order to ensure that stakeholders and project team members remain in agreement on solution scope.
  • Knowledge of at least one or more if the following technologies highly desired: JIRA, Confluence, AGILE, Bitbucket, RBAC methodology.
  • Conduct unit testing, assist QA team, and coordinate with application owners during UAT testing.
  • Self-starter that is able to work independently and with other cross-functional team members on complex issues.

  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and how the Security Rule applies is desirable.
Required education and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in years of experience
  • Oracle Entitlement Server experience: 3 years+
  • Linux, RHEL, Weblogic, LDAP
  • Working knowledge of API-based services (e.g. REST, SOAP)
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts (e.g. IP addresses, ports)
  • Experience in and understanding of core IT security principals and technologies including fine grain authorization and implementation thereof, least privilege, separation of duties, and data protection
Preferred education and experience:
  • Solid understanding of RBAC life cycle management experience: 1 years+
  • Prior experience as an IT security or IAM engineer or similar role
  • Familiarity in managing Identity and Access Management services, including identity lifecycle management.Privileged access management experience a plus
  • Experience deploying Corporate Role-Based Directory / Security Models within the framework of a complex organization model
  • Good understanding of compliance and audit requirements
  • Also has experience with Oracle Identity Manager (OIM)
  • Able to read and understand Java code
  • Experience working in a high availability environment with multiple operational instances
