Business Objects Administrator – Raleigh, NC

In the role of Technology Lead, you will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design. You will play an important role in creating the high level design artifacts. You will also deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Location for this position is Chicago. This position may require 100% relocation

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
  • Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in Information Technology.

Required Skills
  • Expertise in Administration of Business Objects Business Intelligence Platform 4.2/4.1/4.0/R3
  • Required experience in Business Objects XI R3.1 administration and maintained the Business Objects security model in XI 3.1 including security design, performance analysis and resolution. Also worked on CMS clustering and BO process management.
  • BO Servers Upgrade from lower versions to latest version BO BI 4.2
  • Server patch management where new patches and service packs needed to apply to fix bugs following Change Management process
  • Migration of reports / universes/ users along with security settings from one dev/stage to Prod Environment using Promotion Management tool
  • Creating new project setup with security for new application
  • Design and implement security by creating of user groups, granting access to BOE applications to users and adding security restrictions (application level, folder level and object level) based on user profile and user groups.
  • Create access levels (Super/Basic/Develop) based on project needs.
  • Experience in Report bursting. Creating events, custom queries, delivery templates, register network paths and create burst and schedule them and deliver the information as required by project
  • Monitoring day to day scheduled jobs and re-run in case of any failure
  • Monitor report burst schedules and re-run them in case of failure after confirmation from project team
  • Trouble shooting report issues, system slowness. Create ODBC, OLE connections for SQL DB servers and TNS Entries in TNSNAME.Ora file on all BO processing servers.
  • Require to monitor/Handle BO services during windows servers' maintenance
  • Regular BO repository Maintenance like Cleaning Orphaned Connection/Universe/Documents
  • Configure/Optimize Servers settings. Apply trace logs on servers in case of troubleshooting complex incidents
  • Create Users, Groups and User access levels and provide the access to users on request of Application team
  • Start /Stop, Enable/Disable, Clone, Add, remove BO Services on requirement. Also require to fix tomcat Apache/Tomcat issues
  • Organizing the BO content (Delete, Move & edit)
  • Managing BOBJ Licenses
  • Generate reports from query builder to extract the list of universes/reports project wise
  • All Webi system administrations like user activities/ sessions enable/ disable users and modules (if required)
  • Taking BIAR Back up of reports/universes in destination system before creating Promotion management jobs
  • Must have good client interfacing skills

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
