Senior Business System Analyst / Subject Matter Expert

 The successful candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada. You will have a track record of eliciting and interpreting business needs and priorities to ensure the delivery of quality solutions providing the highest value to client. 

You will work alongside other Legacy and Digital IT professionals and with business clients to participate in the design and delivery of personal life assurance solutions. This role will be responsible for providing industry best practices, leading client workshops to elicit and manage requirements and define logical solutions. The candidate will leverage proven technical / life assurance platforms (emphasis on back office operational platforms, especially policy administration) competency and leadership skills to ensure and lead the effective application of technology to business problems and opportunities. 

  • Business planning leadership: create product specifications (contextual to life insurance products), business roadmaps and ensure plans achieves overall business objectives and deliver on customer vision. Contribute to the development of business expertise within the larger technology teams.
  • Work with project managers to refine business roadmaps, scope / features definition, implementation plans, estimations and budgets. Facilitate and develop presentations to senior management.
  • Business architecture, analysis and design: collaborate with all business stakeholders to understand business processes and facilitate improvement initiatives to be more efficient while supporting needs of all customers.
  • Business requirements analysis, design and measurement: ensure common understanding of business requirement. Collaborate with partners to identify requirements, problems and limitations, and facilitate a process to prioritize.
  • Undertake impact assessment of in-flight initiatives on current projects for policy administration and other back office systems;
  • Collaborate with partners to make sure we measure and track progress of requirements.
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Minimum 15 years of experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, partners and other customers
  • Strong analytical skills to determine and document functional specifications
  • Strong creative thinking skills to determine unique ways to deliver on unmet customer needs
  • Depth of knowledge on products from multiple lines of business; experience with Ingenium policy administration system will be preferred
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively to a non-technical audience.
  • Must have exceptional interviewing, influencing, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven interpersonal / teamwork skills on high performing teams
  • Proven ability to learn and handle multiple priorities in a challenging work environment
  • Proven ability to think at an abstract level
