Business Title: Service Now Solution Engineer
Responsible for design, development, deployment and maintenance of IT and Business services and workflows enabled in Cross of CA's branded Service Now instance - Service Marketplace. The ServiceNow Solution Engineer's primary functions are to design, develop, document, test and debug new and existing systems enhancements for internal use, and perform defect corrections (analysis, design, code) in addition to implementing automation solutions for manual tasks. Our ServiceNow Developers participate in design meetings and consult with enhancement requestors to refine, test, and enhance programs to meet operational needs, interact and sometimes direct third-party partners in the achievement of business and technology initiatives. This is an intermediate-level role dedicated primarily to support IT Operations teams including the Service Desk, Access Management, Batch and Monitoring teams. Incumbents work independently on complex work assignments and may determine methods and procedural approaches on new assignments.
Essential responsibilities:
  • Responsible for end-to-end solution, including all areas of configuration and any applicable IT interfaces, integrations or extensions. To recommend "best fit” solutions (which may be over phases and short/medium/longer term timelines) and drive cross functional IT teams to implement these solutions.
  • Lead work sessions, and apply professional experience and analytical skills to define
recommendations and improve overall processes.
  • Conduct full analysis of business requirements and processes to recommend efficiencies and innovation opportunities.
  • Accountable for overall testing of the most complex system and configuration elements and for producing test script documents to support testing outcomes.
  • Act as a lead in the analysis of more complex requirements to translate into ServiceNow application configuration. Develop the most complex solutions including technology integrations across multiple platforms.
  • Document solutions and processes using appropriate documentation protocol and agreed SDLC standards.
  • Ensure traceability of solution back to requirements – and proactively includes measurement and reporting.
  • Continually evaluates business impacts and potential risks to make recommendations for improvements and modifications to ensure optimum functioning of implemented solution, including impact on user experience.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to requirements gathering sessions, while gaining deeper functional/business operations knowledge, to positively impact recommended solution design including implications for operational support.
  • Adopt/lead a business and customer-oriented approach to delivering services and cost optimization
  • Ensure that the deployed ServiceNow solutions are aligned to the requestor and support the business needs and processes and actively support them
  • :
  • Technical education and experience/expertise – including hands on operational experience in IT Service Management/IT Operations - understanding of ITSM in other (related) industries and evolution of technologies to support "running the business of IT”
  • 2+ years of experience with ServiceNow administering the platform, monitoring performance, deploying applications, building out catalog items/workflows, and configuring integrations.
  • 2+ years of experience developing and implementing ITSM/ITIL processes and solutions
  • 2+ years of experience documenting tool requirements from 'To-Be' processes
  • Working knowledge of how configuration management factors into the ITIL framework
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills combined with practice establishing and maintaining credibility as an expert in Service Management
  • Excellent project management and priority setting skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or related field an advantage. Expertise in HTML, AJAX, Angular, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Bootstrap, AngularJS, and Jelly Script an advantage
  • Experience in ServiceNow Orchestration and automation technologies and capabilities
  • Business experience and familiarity with overall business operations within functional area preferred
  • ITIL Foundations v3 Certification an advantage
  • Expertise in scripting in PowerShell an advantage
  • ServiceNow Certified Administrator and/or Developer an advantage
  • Possess an in-depth working knowledge of the technical implementation of various ServiceNow modules such as Change/Incident/Problem management, Event management, Configuration management, LDAP, SSO, and orchestration and automated system design. Strong verbal/written communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and requirements documentation.
