Job Description
We are looking for a strong SDET to assist our client with the maturation of their testing and design for their OMS and Grid Mod platforms. The SDET is the person responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining complex test automation using agile automation techniques and tools. · Architect, Design, and Implement software systems that will be used by the target end user
· Responsible for the quality of their software and will implement testing (often unit tests) as well as seek reviews for both their designs and their code
· Will influence on the software processes employed and be responsible for following best practices in software development
· Advocate automation of every part of the software delivery lifecycle
· Assist scrum team with sprint planning, test design, test execution, defect analysis/root cause investigation & reporting on test status
· Identify defects and missing information in requirements
· Implement and continually improve an automated testing framework at all levels of the application stack
· Design and implement automated test cases
· Contribute to the creation of a regression test plan specific to the project.
· Perform manual testing as required

· SDET must have knowledge of what represents good software design. The SDET must be able to create high quality, maintainable, and performant code.
· Extensive experience working with end-to-end testing processes and methodologies/frameworks
· The SDET's knowledge in software design should be focused on:
  • Testability, robustness, and performance, so that they can usually play a contributory or reviewer role in the creation of designs for production software.
· Must have experience in software processes and how to test software
· Must have development skills and software quality skills
· Deep experience implementing complex test automation using Agile automation techniques and tools
· Ability to articulate the role of testing in an overall QA function and to influence a team of testers and developers towards a culture of "fail early” and "building quality in”
· Exposure to Agile (Scrum) methodology
· Experience analyzing business requirements, functional specifications and with collaborative specification
· Experience of Agile workload planning and management (Stories, Tasks, etc)
· Preparation of defect reports and defect metrics, preferably automated
· Defect Analysis and management experience

Desirable Skills:
· Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or equivalent
· Experience in the Utilities industry. OMS and Grid Mod experience is preferred.
· Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc
· Experience of working on business-critical applications and large-scale customer facing websites
